About Us

About Us

We can do so much with so little,
and you can be a part of that!

Overview

The DeCamp’s Band of Brothers Fund was started in 2014 by friends of Jeff DeCamp who sought to honor their long-time friend who lived from 1970-2013. Jeff loved and played all sports and was on the 1987 LaPorte High School baseball team that won the Indiana State Championship. Jeff made lifelong friends through sports and learned valuable life lessons through his participation. Jeff displayed an amazing love for life. It is this passion for sports, love for kids and amazing capacity to help others that our group wants to perpetuate in Jeff’s name. In the spirit of Jeff DeCamp, donations to this fund will support charitable causes, especially programs designed to enrich the lives of youth.

Reason For This Site

The purpose of this fund is to support charitable causes, especially programs designed to enrich the lives of youth through participation in positive sports programs, primarily in or near La Porte, Indiana.

"The most beautiful thing in the world is a ballpark
filled with people."

Our Current Mission

Our Current Mission

Providing kids a place to play with the Clarke Park Renovation

Providing kids a place to play

The DeCamp's Band of Brothers Foundation is working with the LaPorte Park Department and LaPorte Community School Athletic Department to renovate a long-standing neighborhood park. Clarke Park, serves as the LaPorte Slicer's Junior Varsity home field as well as the home for Babe Ruth Baseball. Neither the School nor the Parks Department have the resources to renovate a project of this size, so our Foundation is stepping in to help raise funds.

The Plan

The scope of the project is currently cut into Phases and the first being the renovation of the main Clarke Field baseball diamond, including the bullpen and dugout areas. The estimated cost for this renovation is approximately $160-$170,000 which would encompass a completely updated field similar to the standards you see currently at Schreiber Field at the high school. This would allow the park department to attract larger tournaments and events to our community supporting economic development initiatives. The facility would be more secure with updated gating and fencing to provide long term durability for children to enjoy for years to come.

Big Thank You
